KAZHCHA| കാഴ്ച്ച

Kazhcha is a snippet of what I see, the way I see it.

The word Kazhcha is a Malayalam word that can mean sight (ability to see) and sights (things that you see). Having had to depend on public transport to travel for most of my life, small distances felt like long journeys. It came with it's own highs and lows. My parents, especially my mom had this talent to turn things on its head. That, coupled with a sense of dangerous optimism she could make (force) you to see the bright side of every situation.

So every time I complained about long journeys my parents would tell me, “Kore kazhcha kanan pattille” (Come on! You got to see so many things around). And so the word kind of stuck around with me.

I couldn't find a better word (in meaning and in story) this space lends itself to, so here we go - Welcome to my little corner of the world.

Archives is the homepage, it will lead you to photo's, writings, sketches and a couple of permutations and combinations of these three. Archives was the name of my first workspace. The room just brimmed with documented content; books, diaries, tapes, CDs and manuscripts. I felt at home fiddling through all of it. I hope whoever gets to this space enjoys looking through it.
