THE GOD OF SMALL THINGS

#WorkInProgress

Pond in Kerala Sketch
Water Lily Pond

Growing up, The God Of Small Things was one book I strongly identified with.

Thinking back, I feel maybe it was the way in which the book so eloquently picturized the beauty and bane of living in Kerala that drew me to it. Having had the privilege of living beside ponds and rivers, it was an everyday affair to step out into scenes that resembled pages of the book, or in this specific case, it's cover.

While in general I like to sketch just a part of a plant, this once I decided to try something bigger.

It's been a work in progress over the last one year, as I keep switching back and forth between sketches. But hopefully soon I get to see it fully come to life. In the meanwhile here is a sneak peek.

ABOUT | #BloomInLines

Bloom In Lines, is a series of botanical sketches, mostly of  tropical flora blooming during different seasons.

An off shoot of the same is a bookmark collection (both hand drawn and print versions)

developed from these sketches. The idea of bookmark as a product grew out of thought of being able to gift someone a functional piece of art that they can carry around.

For collaborations send me a mail, and I can take it from there.
